COLLECTIONS CLERK - ACCOUNTING
The Collections Clerk is primarily responsible for pursuing and collecting all delinquent accounts for the Company, by administrating all collection processes and procedures for the most effective collections results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pursue collections on all delinquent accounts (current and past residents)
Provide professional customer service for residents and internal departments
Generate and prepare correspondence and notices regarding payment discrepancies, outstanding balances, and court information to couriers
Determine which accounts should be processed for eviction, in accordance with company policy
Prepare eviction filing with outside Attorney's
Obtain documentation requested for legal hearings and provide to Attorney's by required deadlines
Assist with verifying debt, preparing accounts, and providing documents for approval for turnover to an outside collection agency
Prepare delinquency reporting for Property Managers
Coordinate vacancy inspections for evictions and delinquent residents
Analyze ledgers for accuracy and process adjustments as necessary
Keep detailed notes within Property Management system and spreadsheets for any correspondence made with residents
Answer incoming calls and email inquiries from residents and make outbound calls
Manage the shared email box for resident questions
Update Salesforce for eviction updates
Manage the shared eviction spreadsheet
Act as a backup for the A/R Clerk position
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, SKILLS, and Abilities)
Attention to detail and willingness to follow proper policy and procedures
Must poses exceptional organizational skills
Ability to cross train on other tasks as needed, and to provide backup coverage for other positions within the AR/Collections department
Capability to preform general office duties such as filing, answering phones and emails, making outbound calls and routine correspondence
Experience with computerized accounting systems, Microsoft office software, and standard office equipment (copiers, calculators, computers)
Valid Driver's License is a requirement
