POSITION TITLE: Collections Clerk
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Collections Clerk works closely with the Loan Operations department, branch personnel, and Credit Reporting agency to promptly respond to customers inquiries and disputes. In addition, this role provides support to other Loan Operations workflows and supports other business units.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Process and respond to all incoming inquiries from borrowers, related to current or paid off credit reporting histories; Research the customer history in the CORE system, respond to the field with the information, and, if a correction is needed, update the customer credit file according to policy and procedure.
Process and respond to all the incoming ACDV inquiries received from the EOscar system.
Process loan confirmations sent to Carter Bank.
Process all the return loan mail received in Loan Operations per published procedures
Complete the SOX control audit of the loan maintenance performed per loan personal, on our active loan database.
Maintain the audit worksheet as well as the source documents related to the maintenance performed by the end user
Provide back up to other team members, on individual roles, tasks assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior lending, loan processing, or loan servicing experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong customer service skills
Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
Limited travel required during and after business hours
