Overview
McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Collections Analyst to join our team in the Richmond, VA office. The Analyst will initiate collection efforts and actively pursue aged A/R. Additionally, the Analyst will research and resolve inquiries concerning A/R issues; including A/R balances and payment application history and write-off information. The ideal candidate will demonstrate keen attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and effective communication skills across various levels within the firm.

Responsibilities
Initiate collection efforts and actively pursue aged A/R per firm policy according to assigned practice groups.
Prepare and execute write-off forms according to authorization guidelines.
Research attorney and client questions to help expedite the collections process.
Prepare and distribute collection letters and statements of account.
Contact clients (in accordance with approved procedures and concurrence of the billing attorneys) for accounts receivable that are past due so billing problems can be resolved and collections made.
Take incoming calls on the AR Helpline to assist internal and external callers with inquiries.
Complete departing attorney procedures upon notification of the departure of an assigned attorney.
Assist team members and provide support to others, as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred with one to two years of collections experience OR equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
Legal collection experience preferred.
Proficient in basic to moderate PC skills, including MS Word, 3E, Excel, Outlook, and other firm software as necessary.
Strong Excel proficiency preferred.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and attorneys across all levels.
Ability to work on a team and proactively provide support to others as needed.
