Job Summary

The Payment Solutions Associate will receive and/or make outbound calls to negotiate settlements or secure payment arrangements with customers who are past due on their credit card accounts, with the purpose of bringing their accounts current.

Supervisor or Manager

Essential Job Functions

  • Make outbound or receive customer calls to negotiate settlements or secure payment arrangements. Provide quality customer service to secure payment arrangements for customers who are past due on their credit card accounts.

  • Manually dials, skip traces or utilizes automated dialer to communicate with customers and make payment arrangements to meet or exceed established goals to include balances saved, pay-by-phones collected and call quality.

  • Uses computer to enter payment arrangements into care systems.

  • Utilize time-management and organizational skills necessary to effectively handle multiple expectations and thrive in a performance-based call center environment.


High school diploma or GED

Work Experience

Previous collections, call center, or sales experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Regular, predictable attendance

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week including days, evenings, and weekends.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a respectful and assertive manner to negotiate payment

  • Computer Skills to navigate care systems and the Windows environment

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Basic data entry and typing skills

  • Basic mathematical skills

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements

Call Center environment; job requires sitting the majority of workday

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Velosio's 350 employees serve over 4,000 clients. The Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of customer accounts and owns the credit & collections process end to end. This position requires effective communications across multiple departments and will work closely with the Billing and Cash Applications functions to insure customer accounts are accurate and timely. Responsibilities: * Contact customers via phone and email, using excellent customer service skills, to secure satisfactory resolutions to open account balances and record and report on contact notes * Respond to customer inquiries relating to account issues and reconciles customer accounts and disputes. * Submit requests for credits on invoice discrepancies * Run A/R aging reports to conduct monthly review of customers with outstanding balances * Provide guidance with regards to providing a provision for bad debt * Work closely with 3rd Party collections agencies to collect on delinquent accounts * Review/research/cleanup of unapplied cash * Communicate with Sales, Delivery, Billing, and Cash Applications regarding collection and customer account related issues * Answer incoming customer calls and emails * Develop a formal credit and collections process * Investigate financial stability and determine credit worthiness of prospective customers * Administer credit limits and payment terms * Utilize ERP system to review and document collections activity * Build and maintain positive relationships with customers * Maintain a forecast of anticipated collections for all invoices * Develop daily/monthly key metrics for management Requirements: * Bachelor's degree * 2+ years of experience in collections and customer service required * Strong organizational, communication and management skills. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -- both written and verbal. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills EEO/AA Socius Columbus OH
