We have an opening for a Collaborative Physician to work at our employer health center located in Ardmore, OK

Summary:

Provides oversight to advance practice providers applicable to state licensing and supervision requirements.

Essentials:

  • Collaborative physicians will conduct quality reviews of patient charts on a periodic basis based on state regulations and/or Premise Procedure.

  • Be available to NP/PA as necessary via phone/pager or in person during time the NP/PA is seeing patients or involved in clinical activities to consult on patient care.

  • Execute collaborative agreement with NP / PA and periodically renew as required by State law and/or Premise Procedure.

  • Provide feedback as needed to NP / PA on performance, including areas with opportunity for improvement.

  • Perform any other duties or services required by laws, rules or regulations relating to collaboration with the NP / PA as designated by your state.

  • CPs may be required to conduct a site visit to meet with their respective PA/NP as required by state regulations and law.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO with unrestricted license in the State where providers perform assessments

  • Board certification in an appropriate Primary Care specialty.

  • Prior collaborative experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.

  • Knowledge of symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.

  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Primary Care Physician in the Ambulatory Care Service at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, you will work as a member of a health care team. You will collaborate with other members of the team to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate advanced competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychosocial status of the patients and members, play an active role in the multidisciplinary patient-aligned care team (PACT), promote preventive measures, manage the acute and chronic conditions of his/her assigned panel of patients and patients assigned to other team members when circumstances requires. The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System includes the following Ambulatory Care clinics: * Main Oklahoma City VA Medical Center * South OKC Community Based Outpatient Clinic * North May OKC Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Ardmore, OK Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Lawton, OK Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Wichita Falls, TX Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Stillwater, OK Community Based Outpatient Clinic This Primary Care announcement may be used to fill at all seven(7) mentioned clinics, based on service's needs. Location preference will be discussed during the application/interview process. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; schedule may include occasional Saturday Clinic in lieu of regular tour day to cover extended hours Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: Authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: (1) Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted. OR (2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted. OR (3) For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) that the applicant has met requirements for certification, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate. * Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. * Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
