Cognitive Performance Coach, Lead

Key Role:

Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of psychology, performance psychology, counseling, or kinesiology to conduct research across seven functional areas, including cognitive enhancement and accelerated learning, instructor development and training, tactical training, holistic human performance training, curriculum development technology and software development and research, program evaluation and assessment. Analyze and identify needs and provide viable interventions, including training and performance support. Analyze the development of research procedures. Leverage simulation technology and biofeedback to promote excellence and efficiency during physical, technical, and tactical training, including during the challenges of combat operations or pressure situations. Gather data and compile information into documents regarding sport psychology, including mental and cognitive enhancement training techniques. Provide expertise in the subject matter, including applying industry best practices of operational and functional physical fitness from military and professional sports to the development of training and other technology-based learning solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with psychology, counseling, or kinesiology, including sport or performance psychology

  • Experience with building statistical models and developing machine learning algorithms

  • Experience with data visualization and programming languages, including Python, R, Scala, or Java

  • Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts

  • Secret clearance

  • MA or MS degree

  • Army Performance Expert Certification

  • Certified Consultant with Association for Applied Sports Psychology

Additional Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • PhD degree

  • Graduate of the Army's Master Resilience Training Course

Primary Responsibilities: * Coordination of care between practice and other United Healthcare programs * Review all member charts prior to a physician appointment and create alerts / triggers to highlight Star opportunities for the provider * Partner with the practice's administrative and clinical staff while managing patient appointments and data between visits * Assist members in navigating their network of providers by assisting with follow - up and Specialist appointments as needed * Assist with program eligibility verifications * Appropriate referrals to case management staff * Interact with patients and providers via telephone; scheduling appointments * Perform data collection, data entry and quality monitoring activities, as applicable * Document case information completely, accurately, and in a timely manner * Demonstrate sensitivity to issues and show proactive behavior in addressing customer needs * Provide ongoing support and education to team members * Optimize customer satisfaction, and positively impact productivity * Will not conduct any evaluation or interpretation of clinical data and will be supervised by Licensed and / or certified staff * Adhere to corporate requirements related to industry regulations / responsibilities * Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements * Other duties, as assigned Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma / GED or higher * Customer service experience, telephonic and / or in person * Experience in data entry * Proficiency with a Windows PC and ability to learn new applications easily * Healthcare industry experience * Access to reliable transportation with the ability to travel to client sites within the designated territory * Up to 75% travel locally with some overnight travel possible * Must reside and / or be available to work and travel in Montgomery County and / or surrounding counties Preferred Qualifications: * HEDIS knowledge and / or experience * STARS knowledge and / or experience * EMR (Electronic Medical Records) knowledge and / or experience * 3 years experience in healthcare industry working with HEDIS / STARs and Medicare recipients Careers with OptumInsight.
