Responsible for the accurate and efficient coding of FHC medical records, in
accordance with all legal regulations and accepted standards. The Coder reviews
charts as assigned by the Manager, scans them for errors and omissions, makes
edits as necessary, and submits them for processing. The Coding Specialist
adheres to Corporate Compliance program, by reporting improper or unethical
conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations or program requirements.


Keeps abreast of compliance regulations, standards, and directives regarding
governmental/regulatory agencies and/or third party payers for areas assigned.

Keeps abreast on knowledge of standard coding guidelines (including
Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, HEDIS, and FQHC guidelines).

Researches and resolves coding situations using a variety of billing and
coding references.

Reviews claims data to ensure that assigned codes meet required legal and
insurance rules.

Manages significant work load and works efficiently under pressure meeting
established deadlines with minimal supervision.

Provides updates and status reports to management on a weekly basis.

Computer literate with good knowledge of Word/Excel and Internet usage.
Knowledge of Intergy and EPIC preferred.
Knowledge on medical terminology; ICD-10 coding processes.
Comprehension of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPCS Coding Guidelines.
Knowledge of Healthcare and Community Health Center industry and practices.
Strong attention to detail and high accuracy rate.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
Researching skills to collect patient information.
Superior organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to accurately collect required data.
Complete electronic form requirements.
Able to multi-task

1 year of medical coding experience and/or Bachelor Degree in Business,
Healthcare Management, Finance or related field or equivalent combined

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification preferred.

Medical Coding & Billing course completion preferred.

Minimum of 1year employment in Healthcare related field preferred.

VIEW JOBS 11/7/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-05T00:00 PURPOSE: The Director of Coding (Revenue Integrity) will directly support Executive Director, Patient Access in managing the financial reporting and revenue capture of the centers within all specialties nationwide. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for creating and maintaining Coding Policies. * Create and manage charge scrubber edits * Direct Bi-weekly and Monthly meetings * Monitor pending charges summary, E&M work tools and aging. * Responsible for project management of front end patient processes and revenue cycle, financial counseling, accounts receivable and A/R revenue cycle. * Oversee business financial management of offices. * Involved in patient pay programs, revenue recovery, and financial reporting for offices and centers throughout the nation. * Support special projects such as revenue recovery to increase monies outstanding for each center. * Establish and monitor co-pay balances program and related training/implementation of policies and procedures. * Present financial data to executive management on a monthly basis. * Travel to centers on an as needed basis for purpose of evaluation of coding/billing procedures. * Oversees the routine auditing process of patient charts and assist in performing the audits. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Advanced knowledge of the billing and charge capturing process. * Strong knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes for multiple specialties. * Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills * Ability to exercise initiative, use sound judgment, and employ effective problem solving techniques in the decision making process. * Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment * MBA strongly preferred. * At least 5 years experience as a high-level manager or executive, with responsibility for revenue stream of a large organization. * Demonstrated management-level experience over financial reporting process in a large hospital system or group practice.
