Job Description

Coding Compliance Educator (Job Opening 456432) - The Coding Compliance and CDI Education Coordinator assures accuracy and compliance of coding, MS DRG (Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group), APR DRG Assignment and APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification) assignments; conducts and coordinates ongoing educational programs and training for the Coding Unit and incoming clinical staff regarding MS DRG/ICD (International Classification of Diseases)/CPT (Current Procedural Terminology)/APC updates. Responsible for communicating regulation, policy, and guideline changes to affected personnel.

Serves as a resource for department managers, staff, physicians, and administration on accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements and assists in the development of structural documentation tools. Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal and operational controls designed to ensure that coding processes and practices lead to appropriate execution of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to facility coding including federal and state regulations and guidelines, CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) compliance standards. Applies standardized scoring methodology to consistently evaluate coding accuracy and standardizes review findings and methodology to report monitoring results.

Communicates review results to department management, coders and other appropriate staff. Makes recommendations to management for corrective action. Serves as a subject matter expert and authoritative resource on interpretation and application of coding rules and regulations and conducts risk assessments of potential and detected compliance deficiencies.

Job Opportunity for a Senior Facility Security Officer (FSO) OSR is seeking a self-motivated, experienced, and resourceful individual to serve as the Senior Facility Security Officer (FSO) for The Ohio State University. The FSO will manage the administrative, training, communications, database, and record-keeping aspects of the facility security program for the university. As the Sr. FSO, this position will ensure compliance with Defense Security & Counterintelligence Agency (DCSA) regulations, coordinate clearance applications for university officials conducting or overseeing classified research, manage and maintain facility clearance, and develop and implement all necessary program enhancements to upgrade OSU Facility Clearance to possessing site status. The FSO will interact with all levels of customers both inside and external to the university, such as, university administration, faculty members, students, staff, DCSA representatives, Federal Bureau of Investigations personnel, etc. This position will report directly to the OSR Director. Performance Objectives * Responsible for the security of the organization in matters of classified processing, safeguarding, access control of personnel security and physical security. * Applies advanced facility security knowledge and experience to preparing and updating facility security manuals and briefings to include OPSEC and Insider Threat policies and procedures. * Takes the lead to develop, coordinate, and conduct security awareness, training and educational programs for all cleared employees ensuring compliance and support of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM,) customer requirements, and university policy. * Conveys, interprets, and implements security requirements outlined in DD 254s; prepares subcontractor DD 254s. Manages and maintains the university NISS account; prepares and submits facility clearance packages as needed. Values and maintains having interactive relationships with DCSA representatives, prime and subcontractor FSOs. * Responsible for, and serves as the point of contact and subject matter expert on preparing the facility for required audits or vulnerability assessments, and maintains a robust security process. * Conducts inspections and audits of secure facilities and secure storage of materials, liaising with Export Control Officer, Facilities, OSUPD, OCIO, etc. as required. * Support Business Development functions by providing subject matter guidance and input regarding classified requirements associated with identified opportunities to ensure that they can be successfully and appropriately performed at OSU. * Stays current and conveys updates to OSR, Director on FSO training and security requirements as directed by DCSA. * Provides regular updates to Director and senior leadership on status of security management, security violations, badges, clearances, visit requests, etc. Additional Information for Applicants: Application Instructions: Submit your application, cover letter, and resume via the Ohio State Job Posting website.
