The Coding Assistant will post charges from encounter forms in a timely and accurate manner, performing follow-up research, as needed.
Enters insurance payments into the ERA spreadsheet.
Logs and tracks daily surgeries.
Logs and tracks daily denials from within coding queue.
Maintains tracking log for coder staff productivity.
Manually enters tickets for DME products that cannot be processed through appropriate software program.
Manually enters IME and narrative tickets that cannot be processed through appropriate software programs.
Sorts and distributes the mail for coding department.
Scans charge tickets into appropriate software program, sorting them in preparations for coding staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
Previous medical office experience, with familiarity of medical terminology required.
