What You Will Do

As a Clerk with Ascension Medical Group, you will have the opportunity to prepare and issue bills for reimbursement to individual and third party payors in an out-patient or medical office environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare insurance claims for submission to third party payors and/or responsible parties.

  • Review claims for accuracy, including proper diagnosis and procedure codes.

  • Review claim rejections and communicate with payors to resolve billing issues.

  • Prepare and review routine billing reports. Recommend process improvements based on findings.

  • Maintain and improve technical knowledge of billing diagnosis codes, procedure codes and modifiers.

  • Respond to complex telephone and written inquiries from patients and/or third party payors and physician practices.

  • Study, analyze and examine all unpaid accounts to determine and perform appropriate follow up action in a timely manner based on department policies and procedures.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's Degree in Medical Billing preferred

Work Experience:

  • Billing experience required. One year of medical billing experience required OR three months of on the job training and orientation required.

This role is a hands-on leader, working directly with their team with a daily goal of maintaining and improving the Office 365 experience. This is a highly visible and user facing role, requiring leadership and partnership with many IT and business functional areas. This position will brainstorm and challenge the processes on regular basis in an effort of continuous improvement. This role will be responsible for influencing IT enterprise architects while designing/evaluating new products and services, for our enterprise that operates exclusively from the cloud. Your organization will maintain a global operating model, managing onshore and offshore resources and technical teams, to ensure a consistent, seamless, and standard user experience across the various locations around the world. The ability to document, communicate, educate and respond to incidents and service requests that may jeopardize stability or consistent delivery of the services are an important function of this role. Ability to multi-task and manage a multitude of projects and initiatives. Must be detail oriented, organized, and resourceful. Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment, work in cross-functional collaborative teams and implement organizational change management. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience required. * 12+ years of varied overall IT experience including, but not limited to IT Operations or IT Service Delivery. * 5+ years of proven IT Sr. Leadership experience overseeing multiple IT functions, team management, business relationship management, IT finance, vendor management, and software license asset management. * Experience in supporting Windows systems. * Strong customer services focus, with analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Experience of people management with ability to lead and manage cross cultural and cross regional teams. * Knowledge and understanding of various collaboration tools platforms, such as, Office 365, WebEx, and video conference. * Thorough knowledge and understanding of: ITIL, IT Finance, ITSM, Collaboration tools (SKYPE, Yammer, Email) Business-Relationship Management (including best practices, techniques and technologies). * Ability to develop sourcing strategy, evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, and managed service management. * Ability to lead, as well as mentor and develop team. * Ability to work effectively in a consultative role with other senior technology managers and IT Executive leadership.
