Providence is calling a Coder 1 (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Our Coders support within a unique dynamic as they work directly within our Oncology, Children's Development and Integrative Medicine clinic facilities. We are seeking candidates who possess a high level of customer service and are passionate about teaching. Coders work one on one with clinic Providers providing education, feedback as well as being a resource for any coding related questions. Anticipated Schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, day shifts.

In this position, you will:

  • Perform coding audits and review of outpatient provider services to support coding optimization and compliance for the medical group.

  • Support multiple specialties across the medical group with coding for evaluation and management and procedural services.

  • Work side by side with outpatient providers providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and support with the code entry process, documentation, International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9), ICD-10, and Hierarchial Condition Categories (HCC) coding in alignment with current medical group reimbursement requirements.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) -or-American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) certified coding credential

  • 2 years of working in a medical office or physician billing office, or equivalent office experience

  • Any AHIMA or AAPC coding-related credential; credential-eligible applicants may apply

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience working with physicians, with an emphasis on coaching and communication

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience

The Gastroenterology West Specialty Group of The Oregon Clinic has a full-time Registered Nurse opening at our busy clinic located in SW Portland (adjacent to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center). This full-time position is 4/10s. Days worked during the week will vary. Shift times are also variable and begin between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Position will work in our ambulatory surgery center and is responsible for admission and recovery of patients, monitoring patients and assisting physicians in procedures, and making pre and post op calls. We are looking for a team player who can multitask and provide high quality patient care in a busy outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have prior acute care/recovery experience, and will be flexible to pick up shifts as needed including early morning shifts on same-day notice. No weekends, evenings or holidays are required with the position. Starting pay range, based on experience: $37.14 – $43.69 per hour Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.
