Cobb Summer 24 Intern (Multiple Locations)

Job Details:

This position will be based at one of our farm locations, which could include pedigree, research, GGP, hatchery, feed mill or GP farms. This position will work in live operations for a primary poultry breeder and allow you to learn many aspects of live production.

This position will work under an experienced supervisor to gain the necessary training needed to work on a team, and produce a high quality, safe product that meets customer specifications. This position will work with operation support departments and may require the holder to work various shifts during the training phase to learn additional facets of the operations. Other duties include ensuring that all product quality and safety processes are being followed consistently, promoting a safe work environment, and performing other responsibilities as needed.

Candidate selected will be expected to be an active participant, complete all assignments, and achieve all training expectations to achieve optimal performance. This internship will provide real-world hands-on experience.

Interns will get the opportunity to attend several educational sessions designed to enhance leadership development and personal development. These sessions will be facilitated by talent and recruiting as well as senior leadership within Cobb.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students. Poultry Science, Agriculture Business, or Animal Science majors preferred.

Experience: Previous work experience in any field.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel familiarity with Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Supervisory: None

Special Skills: Ability to multitask; motivated self-starter.

Biosecurity: The jobsite may require entry into a bio-secure environment and showering before entering the facilities is required.

Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species, chickens, ducks, and birds. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must always be followed.
