COB Academic Advisor (Student Services Professional II)

:

Working independently, under general supervision of the lead advisor, the College of Business Academic Advisor supports the recruitment, admission, enrollment, and advisement of approximately 3,500 undergraduate business students from the point of initial inquiry through graduation. Services and activities include academic advising, evaluation of transcripts for transfer credit specific to the major, coordination and presentation of advising related workshops. Additionally, incumbent will represent the department at meetings and events, and perform other advising duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.

AND

Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.

• A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

• Bilingual.

• Previous experience working in a higher education institutional setting.

• Previous experience working with a diverse student body.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $58,092 - $82,608 per year.
