We are seeking a Coax Splicer to join our team in Denver, CO. In this role you will place and install required coax cable, repair and splice new lines as needed to complete testing and certification, read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets for required tasks and sequence. You must be able to read and understand site plans, maps, diagrams, designs, and prints needed to support assigned projects.

The Role

  • Repairs and splices new lines as needed to complete testing and certification

  • Places and installs required coax cable as needed

  • Reads and interprets work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets for required tasks and sequence

  • Installs all passive and active devices, pedestals, vaults and coax splice cases required to house CATV equipment to meet customer requirements

  • Tests Coax-RF lines

  • Pulls Coax through existing duct package, pulls cable through conduit manually, blowing, or mechanically, and splices and activates underground and aerial lines

  • Optimizes new nodes and splices in node splits to reduce capacity

  • Reads and understands site plans, maps, diagrams, designs and prints needed to support assigned projects

  • Utilizes RF Meters and TDR accurately

  • Safely utilizes bucket trucks or climbs utility poles to place cables on poles per system design

  • Completes all production sheets, verifies proper levels after activation and adjusts and troubleshoots as necessary to close assigned projects

  • Completes all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders

  • Works in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, elevated

  • Navigates a variety of terrains managing tools and equipment

  • Ensures that resources are secured and maintained in proper working order

  • Performs quality inspections to ensure compliance with MSO guidelines

  • Performs and record monthly vehicle inspections

  • Reports any vehicle performance or maintenance concerns to Supervisor/Manager immediately

  • Works flexible hours as needed based on customer demand

  • Strive to provide the best customer experience every day

Requirements

  • Proficiency in new build, coax and pole transfers

  • Ability to use signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer and system maps sweep gear

  • Ability to travel daily and open to a variety of schedules

  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs

  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices

  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)

  • Ability to complete tasks with small components and wires

  • Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time

  • Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed based on customer demand

  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role

  • Valid driver's license

  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
