Work Performed:

  • Locate rolls of carpet, scan hard back ticket on each roll. Check correct roll number and style.

  • Move rolls from storage racks to the coater and place behind the coater in position for sewing on.

  • Unload rolls of action bac and other materials from freight trucks.

  • Place rolls of action bac at the coater for sewing on.

  • Assist in loading trucks when necessary.

  • Scan tickets from scan gun place on sew on table

  • Drive lift truck to pull rolls

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting is required of carpet cores weighing approximately 25 lbs. 30 times per shift.

  • Standing is required approximately 1 hour per shift.

  • Reaching is required for hand held computer approximately 75 times per shift.

  • Stooping is required 10 times per shift for intervals of approximately 5 minutes.

  • Bending is required for cores approximately 30 times per shift.

  • Must be able to operate lift truck.

  • Must be able to use scissors.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Must be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

  • Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.

Other Requirements:

  • Overtime is required on occasion.

  • All accidents must be reported immediately.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

  • Safety equipment must be worn as required and requirements must be followed for all areas.

  • Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.

  • Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.

VIEW JOBS 11/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-12T00:00 Job Summary: The Hard Surface lift truck operator is responsible for all material movements within the Hard Surface department. He/she ensures that the material needed for Hard Surface are staged, shipped and assemble appropriately to maintain continuous production within the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Follow all company policies and safety procedures, as well as OSHA standards to promote a safe working environment * Safely operate a lift truck to carry large containers/pallets of materials throughout the facility * Pick up and move pallets (cages/boxes) from Hard Surface using lift truck * Use scales and AS400 to record production and print tickets for shipment routing and staging in the department * Store Hard Surface material in correct area of warehouse * Unload and reload Hard Surface material in trailers * Assemble Hard Surface material for shipment * Packaging Hard Surface material in station area * Communicate with leadership and co-workers * Perform and complete daily Lift Truck Inspection form at the beginning of each shift * Maintain condition of equipment responsibilities on Lift Truck (using air compressor/utility knife) * Perform housekeeping duties to maintain and clean and safe work environment * Inspect equipment for wear and conformance to asset condition expectations * Communicate with management, supervisors, and mechanics regarding mechanical/safety issues * 100% Compliance with all safety procedures * Complete all other duties as assigned by management Performance Expectations (if applicable): * Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with a wide range of temperatures * Must be able to continually move from sitting position to standing position throughout 12 hour shift * This position requires bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and walking * Ability to work around heavy industrial equipment and confined spaces * Must have the ability to physically demonstrate proper techniques for training team members Experience/Education Requirements: * Experience in manufacturing environment preferred * Previous lift truck experience preferred * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Must be able to pass company Lift Truck training * Lift truck certified preferred Other Requirements: * Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems. * Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the equipment is working properly. * Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. * Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. * Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others. * Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. * Multilimb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. * Response Orientation — The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part. * Far Vision — The ability to see details at a distance. * Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
