THE ROLE

We are seeking Part-Time Coat Check Staff in the East Williamsburg/Bushwick area.

THE JOB

We are looking for detail orientated individuals with excellent organizational skills to work as part of a coat check team providing a prompt, courteous and professional service to all guests. Ability to work under pressure during rush periods is essential.

  • Ensure a sufficient amount of supplies is available, including hangers, tickets, and other materials.
  • Collecting coats, bags and hats and distributing claim tickets.
  • Charging each guest appropriately and managing your individual point of sale.
  • Hanging all coats and guest belongings in an organized manner.
  • Retrieving coats upon receiving claims.
  • Ensuring the work area is clean at all times
  • Returning any unclaimed belongings to management at the end of the shift.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related experience in a customer service setting
  • A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to execute assignments
  • Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
  • Must be courteous and professional
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds
  • Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 12 hours during events
  • Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others
  • Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, able to stand for long periods of time

An ideal Cinema Floor Staff member will deliver excellent customer service to all audience members entering the cinema.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Cinema Floor Staff are expected to learn all facets of the position, including concession, door attendant, box office attendant, and cinema cleaning.</p></li><li><p>With guidance from the Cinema Assistant Manager, a Cinema Floor staff will be responsible for learning and administering the following duties:</p></li><li><p>Learning point-of-sale (POS) system for use at the cinema concession stand and ticket box office.</p></li><li><p>Communicating clearly and effectively to customer's questions on directions, programming, and local suggestions</p></li><li><p>Reporting to work promptly</p></li><li><p>Displaying a hospitable welcome to all visitors</p></li><li><p>Maintaining a balanced cash register at the concession and ticket box office.</p></li><li><p>Daily upkeep of the Cinema space during operations. The role is represented by Local 2110 and will be paid in accordance with the BAM/UAW Local 2110 Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is part-time, non-exempt, and ineligible for benefits. This role will have access to BAM-related benefits including access to BAM's fantastic programming.</p><p>Schedule: Cinema staff are expected to work during BAM Cinema Rose peak operation times (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) and will generally be required to be available during these periods. Qualified candidates must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours- 30 hours per week.
