Job Duties

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Office of Clean Water Financing and Assistance is seeking two Program Coordinators who will provide assistance with resolving problems as needed by working with applicants to resolve issues efficiently, fairly, and consistently. These positions approve loan and grant disbursement requests and oversees maintenance of Central Office files and project status/tracking reports.

Monitor compliance with all federal and state program requirements, provide project management oversight, and ensure that all funds are accountable. These positions serve as the SLAF, WQIF, or as the Lead for special projects for the Office of Clean Water Financing and Assistance (CWFAP). The Program Coordinators review and rank project applications to develop recommendations for project funding. These positions are responsible for developing the Annual Report as assigned by the Deputy Director of Clean Water Financing and Assistance. Responsibilities typically include the following:

  1. Financial and program tracking

  2. Maintaining program website

  3. Assisting with program presentations as needed.

  4. Tracks and reviews project disbursement requests

  5. Maintains Central Office project files and status reports to ensure compliance with all federal and state program requirements, and ensure that funds are accountable.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of personnel management and supervision.

  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment/stormwater treatment technologies and construction management principles.

  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations and environmental programs, especially related to water quality.

  • Demonstrated experience in contract/grant negotiations, project and budget management and administration, and teamwork principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and manage program area functions.

  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in a complex and technical environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with personal computers, automated databases, and Microsoft Office Suite software.

Additional Considerations

Combination of education or training with major coursework in engineering, natural and physical science or related field.
