If you have a budding PASSION for THERMAL SYSTEMS, Copeland has a rare opportunity for you! This position is responsible for advancing multiple of not-in-kind technologies for Copeland. The Helix Innovation Center's Thermal Systems Engineering Co-op will explore what it takes to bring new technology into an industry with little disruptive change over the last 100+ years. You won't be alone. There is a strong and dedicated cross-functional team at our Dayton, OH location looking to collaborate on opportunities that drive new value for Emerson.
AS A THERMAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL:
Apply thermodynamic principles towards the development of new to world technical solutions.
Frame and articulate customer problems that require thinking differently.
Collaborate in a fast-paced atmosphere to build technology solutions and perform testing to demonstrate that customers' needs are met
Work closely with the cross-functional team at the Helix Innovation Center to balance the Technology requirements with Business needs and Customer demands.
Frequently share insights gained with the Helix Innovation Center team and with the business.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply creativity to new problems
Passionate Learner across a variety of disciplines
Communication and presentation skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3rd year undergraduate Engineering student with completed coursework in thermodynamics
Experience with data acquisition and testing for research
SolidWorks modeling and 3D printing skills
Flexible Work Schedule
This role has the flexibility of a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am
