Position Description
As a CNC Manager, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
Manage and provide leadership, direction, and coordination with key stakeholders
Ensuring adherence to Applied Quality Systems (QS) including; SOP's, MI's, QI's, TM's and engineering drawings
Identifying and evaluating safety, quality, efficiency and/or team member issues to area leadership
Identifying and leading process, machine and program improvement initiatives
Participate in the design and development of new products, materials, manufacturing processes, fixtures and equipment
Review engineering drawings, shop order operations and sequence to ensure process is able to be followed and adheres to the Quality System
Assisting in the implementation of process improvements such as; updated machine parameters, performance studies and capacity analysis
Perform troubleshooting of CNC, Swiss Screw, Wire EDM and Stamping manufacturing processes
Perform root cause analysis for issues that may be related to machining, automated machines, or product/process design
Responsible for capacity planning for present and future growth, mentoring direct reports, and supporting team members in reaching company goals
Assign manufacturing work centers, focusing on the cost of manufacturing (such as variances, labor efficiencies and utilization, work center rates and expenses)
Control manufacturing expenses and assisting in implementing cost reduction programs
Perform all manufacturing and production operations for respective work area in various machine shop work centers, such as CNC Milling, Swiss Screw, and Stamping
Leading a team of Machinists, Machine Operators and/or Production Associates team members with scheduling, training, performance evaluations and wage & hour
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
High school graduate, General Education (GED)
Certification from any technical training institution of college
5-7 years working in a machine shop, preferably with Makino F5 and Fanuc controls
Proven experience managing a team of at least 10 direct reports
Experience with general machining and manufacturing processes
Ability to develop and troubleshoot machinery, programs and processes
Must have strong verbal communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with engineering and leadership about all manufacturing duties, activities and production issues
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Experience with ISO 9001
