CNC Set-Up Specialist

  • Perform complex, multi-axis CNC machinery set-up by downloading and/or adjusting preset programs, or by creating complex new programs on a variety of CNC equipment

  • Operate CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product per work instructions

  • Read and interpret technical drawings to determine machine set-up and production methods

  • Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results, adjust program or notify appropriate person of deviation when needed

  • Perform machine adjustments such as off-sets or setting tapers

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance such as changing coolants, filters, etc.

  • Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment

  • Train incoming CNC Set-up personnel on processes and procedures

  • Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

  • Vocational or technical certification preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) years relevant CNC experience

  • Five (5) years CNC experience preferred

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to write, edit and modify advance CNC program options

  • Intermediate math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry) and computer skills

  • Deep knowledge of CAD/CAM programs and G & M codes

  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints

  • Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills

  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Materials Analyst, Specialist who will support the Central Materials team with Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning. The Central Materials team rolls up inventory for all value streams and sites within the organization. This includes net inventory plan and end to end variance analysis, development of real time problem resolution reports, and driving down cost related to working capital. Primary Responsibilities * Ensure that Master Schedule is reflected in the organization and communicated with a focus on delivery and inventory control * Develop tools for real time problem resolution for materials metrics and look for opportunities to improve the business * Act as liaison between stakeholders to drive projects and communicate results & expectations * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reports are aligned; analyze any variances * Manage projects to develop new reporting tools, change processes, or solve problems. Utilize tools, knowledge, and techniques to meet project requirements * Participate in inventory and president demand reviews with sites, programs, and senior leadership * Responsible for tracking appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement. * Establishes clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for SIOP. Experience & Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Concise communication skills and demonstrated ability to present to a wide variety of audiences * Self-directed with strong planning and work product organizational skills * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to organize and analyze large sets of data * A team player with strong listening skills * Understanding of financial metrics and operational drivers * Strong Analytical skills Preferred Qualifications * Business Warehouse or SAP experience * Experience with Tableau or any other data visualization tool * Experience with presentations to senior leadership Education & Certifications * Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years' experience in materials, finance, economics or any other related field Nothing matters more to Collins Aerospace than our strong ethical and safety commitments.
