CNC Set Up Machinist

Job Purpose: Primus Aerospace is currently seeking CNC Set Up Machinists at our Reisterstown facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.

The candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, perform basic math calculations, and have a strong understanding of machining processes. 1st and 2nd shift opportunities are available. CNC Setup Machinist Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings Perform basic math calculations Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines as needed Maintain a clean and safe work environment Install and touch up tools Fixture installation and setup Managing work coordinate systems (WCS) Validate program Validate part quality through In Process Inspection Criteria (IPIC) chart completion and verification Review the program specifications to determine the sequence of set-up operations and dimensions of finished product Establishes a strong and reliable set-up for operators to follow, as well as fills out the proper instructions for the operator to follow Troubleshoot programs Tool and work coordinate (WCS) offsets Interface with Quality, Operators and Programmers Maintain a 2% scrap maximum If you are a skilled CNC set-up machinist looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to apply for this position at Primus Aerospace.

We offer comprehensive benefits including: PTO Paid holidays Medical insurance Dental and vision insurance Life insurance Short- and long-term disability 401K - employer matched Requirements Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) G-code familiarity Strong knowledge of print reading and mathematics Experience with both mills and lathe (Preferred) 3-axis Mastercam programming experience (Preferred) Experience with Haas, DMU Mori, Makino, Mori-Seki, Nakumura and Brothers machines preferred Strong understanding of machining processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings Basic math skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Ability to obtain a secret clearance if necessary To adhere to U.S.
