Incumbents must have the ability to understand G code and program CNC machinery using CAM software. Incumbents must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings as well as a working knowledge of mechanical principles involved in fabricating and machining parts or assemblies. Incumbents must also be able to provide proper care, maintenance, servicing and record keeping of instruments and equipment as required. Incumbent's primary focus will be programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Advanced knowledge of programming CNC machines.
Programs geometry using G Code and CAM software (MasterCAM required, Esprit a plus) Ex: Contours, Face, Drill, Profile, Tap etc.
Builds, fabricates, or repairs instrumentation from verbal instructions,
blueprints and/or working drawings.
Modifies instruments for special projects.
Other tasks as assigned such as setting up and running machinery, if needed.
Use and operate a variety of hand tools, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
Perform In process Inspection on instrumentation.
Repair, clean, adjust and/or perform preventive maintenance on
equipment, tools, or machinery, etc.
Ability to offer constructive feedback to engineers on design for manufacturing.
Must be a Team Player willing to collaborate
Ability to read complex mechanical blueprints
Experience with ASME Y14.5 M-1994 Geometric Tolerance
Experience with ANSI Z1.4 Sampling Plan
Working knowledge of GMP compliance for Class II Medical Devices a plus
Hands-on experience with micrometers, calipers, dial and digital indicators, optical comparator, ring gauges, pin gauges, and thread gauges
Understanding of thread specifications and classification of fits
CNC Machine tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
Principles, theories, and practices of machining Stainless Steels, Cobalt Chrome, Aluminum, and Plastics.
General computer skills
Good communication skills

Minimum 3 years machine set up and machining experience of CNC Mills, Lathes and/or Wire EDM
Minimum 1 year efficient programming experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as decimal equivalence, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
This person must be able to constantly make decisions concerning the acceptability of product based on specifications, standards, and training. The position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CNC user interface, CAM software (MasterCAM required, Esprit a plus)
