AmpThink LLC Manufacturing has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Machinist. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the machining of complex parts, as well as conducting setups on mills and lathes. AmpThink Manufacturing provides engineering support, precision machined parts, high volume production and assemblies to a broad range of business types including Defense, Energy, Medical, Electronics, and Communications.


  • Develops programs for all CNC machining centers, including 5th Axis and lathes.
  • Works directly with machinists to optimize machine set up.
  • Works with engineering, Senior machinists and supervisors in support of continuous improvement.
  • Reviews existing program library and works to optimize tooling selection and machine run times.
  • Work directly with tooling vendors to understand the latest tooling options and how they add value to operational efficiency.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly operations and meetings.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must excel in a fast-paced dynamic work environment with tight customer deadlines.


  • US Citizen or permanent resident (ITAR Compliance)
  • Experience programming Gibbs/CAM preferred, but not required
  • Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Experience working with ERP system
  • Willing to take classes to learn Gibbs programming if needed


  • Min 3 years programming lathes, horizontal and vertical machines.
  • Min 3 years experience within a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Min 3 years experience within a regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO, AS and ITAR

As a New Build Technician/Radio Programmer, you will be responsible for programming two-way radios using different type of tools by inputting the correct frequencies into the equipment. In this position, you will work in the Fulfillment Department and help out with other departmental duties as well. RESPONSIBILITIES * This position requires constant daily physical motions such as getting up from desk chair and walking to and from the conveyor system and to and from the New Build QC table. * Remove small and large buckets of radios for programming weighing 1 lb to 65 lbs from the warehouse and place in the New Build programming staging area. * Lifting and pulling these same buckets from the staging area of New Builds in order to program at the technicians desk then place on the New Build QC table. * Lifting these same buckets from the QC table and place onto the shipping table. * In this position you will be required to push and pull carts which contain larger and heavier orders as well as pallets which contain very heavy orders by using a pallet jack. * This position requires some building of equipment such as gang chargers for example and requires the use of cordless and manual tools. * Technician must scan each order in the QC computer which enters the order number, quantity of radios programmed, date programmed and the technicians ID that performed the programming. * Program radios daily which includes but not limited to opening each radio box, remove the radio from the box, take the back off of each radio if needed (some radios do not contain a back cover as the battery sometimes acts as the back of the radio), install a battery in each radio in order to program, program the radio by entering the correct frequencies into the programming equipment (frequencies change with each order). After programming each radio the battery must be removed and a sticker placed on each radio before placing the radio back in the box. Pull another radio for programming and repeat the above process until all radios have been programmed for the day. * Act as the point of contact for receiving, fulfillment, programming and shipping. * Cross train in bench repairs in order to assist the repair team when needed. * Job description is subject to change as this position evolves with changing technology and company needs. QUALIFICATIONS * Must be able to program very complex radios such as turbo radios and must be able to create spreadsheets for the programming and assist sales personnel with the spreadsheets. * Must be able to learn how to program repeaters and duplexers after mastering the task of programming radio orders. * Must be able to learn how to program pagers. * Must be able to learn the needed computer tasks for this position and retain a good understanding for programming each different type of radio. * Must be able to use email and complete email related tasks. * Radio programming experience preferred. * Military background is a plus * Background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle Check.
