Learning & Growth With highly engineered products, being manufactured in an operation continuously applying advanced Lean principles, this is a great opportunity for a CNC programmer to continue to develop their programming skills, while being heavily involved in a sophisticated organization where it's not uncommon for employees to have two to three decades of tenure Our aim is to add a CNC programmer that seeks to continuously learn, while applying their milling programming capabilities to the advancement of the operations. Of the more than 25 CNC machines in the facility there are a number of horizontal as well as vertical mills, coupled with and handful of lathes, from well known builders such as Doosan, Mazak, Okuma and others.
The role is a first shift position with a standard starting time of 7:00 a.m., however if an earlier start time would be more convenient there's flexibility. Responsibilities You will be responsible for programming and tooling support while supporting lean manufacturing projects, continuous Improvement activities and new product launch and startup initiatives.
Some other essential functions include: Support Continuous Improvement Projects/Activities Support new product and in-sourcing projects through collaboration with Design Engineers Train and support Production TEAM members on new CNC programs Define and document set-up and work holding needs Review tooling selection, implementation, and validation Post and prove out programs at machining centers Collaborate with Value Stream Engineers on work instructions and continuous improvement opportunities Implement and review the effectiveness of programming and tooling changes Develop and apply machining and programming skills Proactively apply problem solving skills to programming and tooling impediments Qualifications Requirements: Ideally, you will bring 4 plus years of programming experience on cam systems such as Mastercam, Esprit or similar Ideally experience programming horizontal mills (but not necessary; a desire to learn by leveraging existing mill programming experience can suffice) A desire to be involved in multiple aspects of the operation and manufacturing processes An ability to communicate with operators as well as leaders within the organization AMC is an Equal Opportunity employer.
