CNC Maintenance Technician 2

The hourly rate for this position is $35.29

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an CNC Maintenance Technician 2 to join our Saco Operations team.

We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help shape and support this organization.Electromechanical #2 position will install, align, maintain, and repair a wide variety of machinery both conventional and CNC.

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic malfunctions, repairs, rebuilds and overall assemblies if required.

Skills and ability to perform complex diagnoses and repairs of all mechanical, electrical and electronic systems to include CNC controlled equipment and PLC controlled equipment.

Major Position Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and isolate equipment malfunctions in various mechanical and electronic assemblies. Uses established repair procedures to return equipment to serviceable and operating conditions.

Completes mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs, repairs or replaces defective parts, assemblies and or modules as needed.

They will adjust equipment both mechanically and electronically per manufacturers established guidelines.

Inspect the operation of the equipment for conformance with machine manufacturers guidelines.

Must be able to identify parts needed to complete repairs, once identified relay that information to supervision or the manufacturers Replacement Parts Technician.

They will wire new equipment using standards established by the National Electrical Code.

Be able to complete basic programming to include basic machine functions, axis movements, spindle speeds, manual recoveries both tool and pallet and MDI functions.

May be required to fabricate hydraulic, coolant and pneumatic hoses using the required equipment and hardware.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education: Associates Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Conventional and CNC experience required.

Must be able to read mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assembly prints / schematics.

Understand Ladder logic, where to access information, display information and use ladder logic to troubleshoot equipment.

Must have the ability to obtain licenses in the following: forklift, motorized hand truck, scissor lifts and articulating lifts.Must understand how to identify and use all test equipment associated with the troubleshooting and repair of equipment both conventional and CNC.

Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills, may be required to enter and verify information into written and databased systems as deemed appropriate.

Must be able to perform all task and duties of job rate and all task and duties of the lower rates, in that classification.
