Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with Mazak experience to join our team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have Mazak-specific knowledge and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Machine Setup and Tooling:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan machining operations.
  • Set up CNC milling machines, including loading materials, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Install, align, and adjust cutting tools and holders as necessary.

Programming and Operation:

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper execution of programmed instructions.
  • Adjust machine settings, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as needed for optimal performance.

Quality Control:

  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  •  Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes of machined parts against specifications.
  • Identify and address deviations from quality standards, making necessary adjustments.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Detect and troubleshoot machine errors or malfunctions during operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and changing tooling components.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of production activities, setup details, tool changes, and inspection results.

  • Provide regular updates on production progress and any issues encountered.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures to maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with specific experience operating Mazak milling machines strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming and Mazatrol language.
  • Familiarity with Mazak-specific controls and operating systems is a significant advantage.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine-related issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet production goals.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking, for extended periods and maintain the necessary physical dexterity and coordination.
  • Work in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels.
