CNC Machinist - Programmer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Check with designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.

Produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements. Unload and package parts according to JBT Machining standards and customer requirements. Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.

Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including: Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints. Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.

Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections. Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately. Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.

Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Maintain all required documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Mechanical background and machine operating experience are helpful A willingness to learn and be trained on the JBT manufacturing process General skills with hand and power tools Experience working in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving and attention to detail The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to routinely bend and squat Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to repetitively grasp Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Reasonable accommodations may be made to those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred. Crane certification is required.

Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
