CNC Machinist & Programmer

Position: CNC Machinist & Programmer Location:

Richmond, VA Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire Shift: 1st Shift Schedule (Mon - Fri) Pay Rate: Up to $38.00/hr. depending on expertise SUMMARY: Skilled in CNC mill programming, setup, and operation, as well as handling manual equipment and lathes to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts according to precise specifications.

Collaborates with Shop Foremen, Quality Control, and Production Planners to ensure adherence to schedules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO): Execute all tasks prioritizing Safety, Quality, and Productivity Comprehend and comply with Company policies and procedures Accurately record time and job-related data Efficiently set up and operate CNC or EDM equipment Coordinate schedules with Shop Foremen and Production Planners Verify readiness of programs, tooling, and materials before machine setup Proficiently utilize cutting tools and fixtures Ensure safe equipment operation Inspect completed parts for defects and conformity to specifications Perform setup, operation, and adjustment of various machine tools Mark dimensions and reference points on materials Adjust machining controls for optimal performance Monitor machine operation for abnormalities and make necessary adjustments Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area Secure fixtures, tools, and materials onto machines Analyze blueprints and engineering information to plan operations Diagnose machine malfunctions and perform adjustments or repairs Participate in on-site training and safety courses QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a U.S.

Occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing/pulling Mostly standing WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor climate-controlled shop Safety glasses always required Moderate to high noise level Clean and organized work areas
