Job Description Job Description Who we are: Coastal Mechanics is an Aerospace and Defense contractor known for its high-precision aviation and military custom components, as well as its extensive aerospace and defense logistics management services, including MRO services and repair management.

We are rapidly growing and looking for skilled, organized, and dedicated CNC Machinists to join our team. We currently have openings for both CNC Machinist (Mill) and CNC Machinist (Lathe) roles. Position 1:

CNC Machinist (Mill) The CNC Machinist (Mill) will be responsible for operating milling machines to fabricate and manufacture high-precision parts. We seek a detail-oriented, mechanically skilled individual with experience in milling operations. Duties & Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains milling machines. Reviews blueprints, instructions, and samples to ensure precision in production. Measures and marks materials for cutting or shaping.

Selects appropriate machine settings for tasks. Collaborates with the foreman to plan sequence of tasks. Monitors quality, discarding or documenting defects as needed.

Performs machine maintenance and minor repairs. Maintains a clean and safe workstation. Position 2:

CNC Machinist (Lathe) The CNC Machinist (Lathe) will handle lathe operations to fabricate high-precision parts, contributing to our quality manufacturing standards. This position is suited for individuals with a solid background in lathe operations. Duties & Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains lathe machines. Reads blueprints, instructions, and samples to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for shaping or cutting.

Selects appropriate machine and settings. Works alongside the foreman to plan the task sequence. Ensures quality output by checking and documenting as necessary.

Conducts machine maintenance and minor repairs. Keeps a clean and organized workspace. Required Skills & Abilities for Both Positions:

Excellent coordination and mechanical skills. Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T and ISO standards. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.

Effective written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills and math proficiency. Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly. Working knowledge of safety protocols.

Vocational training or apprenticeship is preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
