Our client, a successful manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced machinist to join their growing team. If you are proficient at milling, lathing, and/or EDM, and have worked in a manufacturing warehouse before, read the details below and APPLY WITH US!

CNC Machinist

Role Qualifications:
Must demonstrate a sound knowledge of reading machine drawings. Reading drawings includes understanding dimensions, notes, call outs, surface finishes, bill of materials, and tolerances.

Must demonstrate the ability to program and operate Okuma lathes, Mazak lathes and Haas CNC milling machines.

Must be able to do basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Must be able to design simple fixtures in order to complete the product.

Primary Responsibilities:

Setup and operate CNC Okuma lathes, Mazak lathes, and Haas milling equipment to produce production parts.

Produce machined parts to close tolerance dimensions.

Program Mazatrol, Fanuc, G-code Okuma, or DynaPath software.

Work efficiently to maintain production levels by operating multiple machines within a work cell.

Work as a team member to solve problems with machining and production.

Demonstrate a positive work ethic by sharing knowledge and procedures with co-workers.

Other duties as needed and assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent certification required

3+ years of experience preferred

Comprehends and can explain the operational steps required to complete a job so that a fellow employee may understand it. Must read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday.

Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.

Constant use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.

Must constantly wear eye protection (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required).

Schedule will be determined based on needs, but will most likely be Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm.

Pay range of $16-18 per hour!

This position is a 6-month contract, with option for the company to hire after that period of time.

The candidate must have manual experience in both the lathe and mill departments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the general manufacturing environment to include, able to work safely, able to machine close tolerances +/- .001, precision tool grinding, use of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment. This is for weekend shift (Saturday - Monday 6:00 AM-6:30 PM) Duties include, but not limited to: * Able to implement preventive maintenance schedule and report equipment issues to management. * Provides technical assistance for common equipment issues. * Applies in depth proficiency in all data entry systems and processes. * Works closely with other machinists and management in the installation and application of common machine tooling. * Controls individual tooling usage in order to ensure maximum tool life and longevity. * Communicates tooling issues and recommendations to management. * Performs all aspects of manufacturing within production standards with minimal supervision. * Assist in the training of other machinists and their ability to perform within the standards. * Communicates suspected equipment or tool failure in a timely manner. * Supports and participates in CIP processes. Takes on an active role in at least one CIP from start to finish. * Demonstrates an advanced understanding of ISO procedures and uses them to better manage work processes and identify problems. * Maintains minimal scrap and rework on all manufactured parts. Reports all discrepancies to management immediately. Recognizes the common causes of scrap and shares that knowledge with other Machinists.
