Cobham is seeking a CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift that will set up and operate CNC machine tools, checking processed work against job specifications. This position is located in
Davenport, IA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspects own parts and obtains first article approval when required.
  • Performs all common types of machining including turning, drilling, boring, facing, forming, reaming, tapping, threading, knurling, slotting, burnishing, chamfering, and deburring.
  • Obtains information on job requirements from a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, analysis sheets, sketches, written and oral instructions, to produce quality products.
  • Sets up and operates associated manual machines (drill press, milling machine, saw, etc.) as required.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 2+ years of experience with setup and operation of CNC Mills and Lathe Machines.
  • 2+ years of experience with operating Mazak and Mazatrol controlled machines.
  • 2 + years of experience with CNC programming and processes.
  • 2 + years experience reading, interpreting, and evaluating a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, analysis sheets, sketches, written instructions, etc., in order to obtain job specifications.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

VIEW JOBS 9/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-12T00:00 The CNC Machining Operator works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from set-up to operation producing parts metals. Computer numeric controlled equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds, or drills into the materials. The operator will use vertical machining centers, horizontal machining center, lathes, and multi-spindle drills. Essential Duties and responsibilities Candidate utilizes knowledge of blue prints, schematics and instructions to ensure that all items are designed and built correctly. Must be able to understand and calculate Geometrical Dimensions & Tolerance (GD&T). Execution of Operator Responsibilities * Prepare and run assigned CNC machinery using pre-set programs * Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions * Monitors machine performance and efficiency and alerts supervisor of any issues * Inspects product to ensure material is free from flaws or imperfections * Utilizes all safety and quality measures in the operation of the machinery * Perform any and all tasks that would assist in production or quality within the department Maintains Quality Standards * Embraces the Quality Management System in all activities * Applies internal quality policies and procedures in support of Companys mission and customer standards * Responsible for maintaining a neat work environment and for conforming to applicable quality standards.
