Position Summary ITT's Control Technologies, headquartered in Valencia, Calif., provides fuel management, actuation, noise abatement and vibration isolation components to the aerospace industry and customized and standard products for precision motion control, energy absorption and vibration isolation for industrial markets.

Position Summary:
With minimal supervision, the machinist operates and sets up a variety of machines such as CNC lathes, mills, mill turns. The machinist will to setup and run complex parts. Checks own work for conformance to specifications.
This is a second shift position from 3:30-11:00pm. Essential Responsibilities Be able to operate a variaty of CNC machines and run a minimum of 20-25 different CNC machines. • Should be able to run cells with gear machines and other manual equipment. • Modify speeds and feeds with approval from the supervisor or ME. • Edit programs if required with approval from the supervisor or ME. • Must be able to handle machining of complex parts. • Must be able to operate two or more machines at one time. • Be able to make tooling offsets for wear and geometry. • Working from blueprints, plans methods and sequences of machining to produce good parts complete as needed to conform to specifications. • Inspect parts per drawing requirements and log data as required. • Check and fill as necessary all CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer • Identify stock and raw materials. • Actively participates in safety and continuous improvement and processes needed to ensure production is maintained. • Will be required to train Level I and II operators on running and offsets CNC machines, gear cutters and other manual machines. • Must be able to perform and approve their own first articles for parts that don't need CMM or be able to perform the first piece inspection as required as the second reviewer using standard quality gages and tools. • Expected to contribute ideas for continuous improvement for setups and processes. • Must be familiar with and maintain ITT Quick change setup software. • Must be proficient with quick change tooling. • Must keep their work area clean, wipe down each day and maintain all setup tooling in the right holders. Position Requirements • Minimum 10 years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC machines. • Ability to operate and set a variety CNC machine make/model (either mills and/or mill turns) proficiently. • High School diploma or GED or trade school certification. • Must be able to remain the setup. • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally • Must be capable of working and maintaining tolerances within .0002" in a high-pressure, fast-paced, quality-oriented environment. (Must pass level III test) • Mathematics
Knowledge of basic shop math and dimensions. (need to pass test based on sketches) • Production and Processes
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. Safety is a core value at ITT.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations. Equal Pay Act Range Hourly Range is $30.29 to $45.29, plus benefits and incentive plans.
