CNC Machinist - 2Nd Shift | SMP

Specialty Metals Processing, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator (Water Jet). As a CNC Machine Operator you are responsible for setting up the Waterjet, part processing and part inspection.

This position is available in 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Feedstock material inspection to ensure quality specifications

• Calibration of measuring equipment (checking measuring equipment, i.e. tape measures, each day prior to using it in the course of a shift)

• Scrap management of remnants and efficient scrap utilization

• Basic machine maintenance, including assisting maintenance personnel during breakdowns

• Ensuring size, material finish, and accuracy of the finished goods and packaging of material to customer requirements

• Work order confirmation on computer, carrying/moving supplies as needed, and maintaining good house keeping

• Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment, including PPE
