ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our CNC Machinists are involved in programming and machining a variety of custom parts for our Carlsbad manufacturing facility. This person will read and interpret blueprints, use engineering drawings and draw on their experience and knowledge to produce a working part for our fast-paced production environment. The shift for this role is from2:00pm -10:30pm. Therefore, the ability to work independently and interpret blueprints with very little direction is required. This position will be in charge of machine set up, programming, maintenance and repair, and final inspection.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Candidates must have 3+ years' experience with the following:
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and work with close tolerances (.0002 mil - .0005 mil).
Experience working with large and small vertical mills.
CAD/CAM and CNC programming experience.
Must have experience working with Mastercam. We use version 10.
Must be able to work 1st shift (6:00am to 2:30pm).
Ability to develop their own program to perform the cuts/shapes required by the engineering blueprint. They will be required to upload computer software and program the machine to make parts from various materials.
Ability to communicate with engineers on what is needed for each project and troubleshoot problems and make adjustments when needed.
Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, or crouching for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
Grasping or pinching and manual dexterity.
Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
Work area has fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
Moderate to loud noise level.
