Job Description: /Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be setting up and operating CNC lathes with bar feeders and sub spindles to produce high tolerance work pieces for the aerospace industry. The operator must be capable of reading and understanding blue prints and shop travelers to determine specified requirements, tolerances and sequences of operations for machine set up. Must be capable of performing tool wear offsets, tool geometry offsets, replacing inserts, tool holders, and work holding without assistance. Must be familiar with lathe tooling, insert geometry, and insert nomenclature and machining speeds and feeds. This candidate will also be required to perform basic program editing on Fanuc controls. Will be working in a team environment and will be required to assist with training of other operators.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to read and understand blue prints and written work instructions.
Shop math and basic trigonometry.
Capable of setting up and running parts as required.
Dedicated to quality and capable of producing quality product.
Willing to work overtime as needed to help department meet demands.
Willing to cross-train on other machines deemed necessary by management.
Knowledge of CNC lathe programming preferred but not required.
At least five years of directly related manufacturing experience, specifically CNC lathe.
Proficient with use and operation of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators and other specialized gages.
