All the primary duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center.

JOB SUMMARY:

The NA I works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse or delegated Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care within their scope of practice. The patient care activities are individualized for each patient population.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
1.Competently performs a variety of patient care activities to meet the daily personal needs and comfort of the patient. Performs Nurse Aide I skills as approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and facility policy.
2.Appropriately communicates information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
3.Organizes, prioritizes, and performs work effectively and efficiently.
4.Maintains and adjusts schedule to enhance team performance
5.Demonstrates a daily commitment to the values of the department
6.Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with all members of the team.
7.Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction.
8.8. Responsible for completing a variety of department specific tasks to assist with optimal department safety.
9.10. Performs moderate or waived point of care testing per CLIA guidelines..
11. Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
2.Licensure / Certifications: Maintain current status on the Nurse Aide I registry. Attend at least 12 hours of facility approved continuing education classes each calendar year. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support or Health Care Provider card required.
3.Experience: NA experience preferred.
4.Other (hours of work): Schedule based on departmental needs
5.Population Served: Neonates Infants Pediatrics Adolescents (12 17 years) Adults (18 71 years) Geriatrics ( 72 + years) Dependent upon department.

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Community Access, the RN Supervisor is responsible to ensure delivery of safe patient care, facilitate patient flow during evening/nights, weekends and holidays, and to collaborate and coordinate with the nursing staff to ensure safe patient placement and positive patient experience. The RN Supervisor manages nursing activities, operational processes and patient placement throughout the hospital to assure quality patient care for all PMH patients. The RN Supervisors serve as the administrative representative of the hospital in the absence of the administrative staff, interpreting and enforcing policies to all related departments as needed. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Visits all nursing units throughout shift to supervise nursing care and to ascertain conditions of patients and overall status of nursing units. 2. Visits other patient care departments to provide guidance and direction as needed. 3. Examines patient charts, as needed, for accuracy and completeness and assures conformity to services prescribed by the physician. 4. Interprets hospital policies and regulations to staff members, patients and visitors and conformity to the same. 5. Implements general policies and procedures and informs staff of changes. 6. Complies with and assists in monitoring quality improvement activities. 7. Performs clinical functions as needed. 8. Reviews patient care assignments made by charge nurse to assure appropriate workload. 9. Assigns and covers meal relief when necessary. 10. Communicates with physicians regarding patient's conditions as needed. 11. Gives a concise report of patient's condition, information and incidents that indicate the general tone of the departments within the hospital to the oncoming administrative personnel. 12. Coordinates placement of patients to be admitted or transferred. 13. Receives and documents call-ins and cancellations of staff. Independently responds to replace these unplanned vacancies and records change on resource sheets. 14. Procures equipment, drugs, and supplies if requested. 15. Performs quality initiatives as required. 16. Performs and documents patient rounding every shift. 17. Demonstrates Standards of Performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 18. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, either through an ADN, Diploma or BSN program required. 1. Licensure/Certifications: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina. BCLS required and certification in departmental specialty preferred. Must maintain the annual required CEU's as defined by NCBON. Additional hours may be required by the unit /dept 2. Experience: A minimum of two years supervisory experience and three years clinical nursing experience preferred. 3. Other (hours of work): Must be flexible with work schedule. 4.
