Location: Clarksburg/Morgantown



The CNA Instructor will instruct students according to the curriculum designed to assist students to build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for WV CNA. Assist students in registering for the WV State CNA licensing exam. The Instructor must possess the ability to work with students from different socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. The Instructor will teach a minimum of 75 hours of classroom instruction. The salary of employment will be contracted per class.


  • Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the manual

  • Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain the CNA license

  • Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content

  • Evaluate and document students' progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained

  • Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, CTC staff, and prospective employers

  • Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participating, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care

  • Maintain a monthly time sheet and turn in at required deadlines

  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Project Director


  • Maintains the confidentiality of resident's information

  • Honor resident's personal and property rights

  • Understands all rights afforded to residents and acts accordingly

  • Reports any behavior that may be construed as abuse, neglect or misappropriation of residents' personal belongings


  • Maintains assigned work areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner

  • Knowledgeable of fire safety and disaster plans

  • Knows location and proper use of fire extinguishers

  • Understands and practices Universal Precautions with all residents

  • Follows procedures for all Category Specific Isolation procedures


  • Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies

  • Clean equipment properly after use


Lifting residents with mechanical assistance, bending, stooping, repetitive movement, walking, assisting in transfers of residents to/from bed/chair, reaching, assisting residents in ambulating, may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.


Risk of exposure to infectious or communicable diseases: HIGH


  • Registered Nurse License

  • Two years nursing experience and at least one year of experience in the provision of LTC facility services in the last 5 years
