Job Responsibilities To provide instruction to students in both classroom and clinical settings. This includes teaching nursing skills, medical terminology, patient care techniques, and relevant laws and regulations in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the SC DHHS and Joint Commission best practices.
Developing and updating the curriculum to ensure it meets the latest standards and regulations set by the SC DHHS. This may involve incorporating new teaching methodologies, technologies, and best practices in the field. Assessing students' knowledge and skills through examinations, practical demonstrations, and clinical evaluations to ensure they meet the necessary competency requirements for certification.
Providing guidance and support to students throughout their training program, including academic advising, career counseling, and assistance with job placement. Staying current with developments in the field of nursing education and participating in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Minimum and Additional Requirements Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license in South Carolina.
Must have a Basic Life Support for the Provider, American Heart Association approved certification. Must have a minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year of experience working in a long-term care facility. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively teaching and interacting with students Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
