Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking CMT / QC Technicians with experience, or strong desire to gain expertise, in soils and concrete testing to join our team in Jacksonville, FL

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform soil density testing using both nuclear gauge and sand cone in accordance with ASTM and project specifications

  • Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications

  • Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results

  • Transport samples from the field to the laboratory for processing and testing

  • Operate independently in the field environment

  • Communicate regularly with clients and contractors to convey results and schedule requests

  • Dependable and reliable

Skills / Qualifications

Role Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician-Grade I preferred

  • FDOT CTQP Earthwork Level 1 preferred

  • Nuclear Gauge Safety Transportation Course

  • 1-5 years of related experience preferred

  • At least one of the following current certifications preferred:

  • FDOT CTQP Earthwork Level 1 & II

  • FDOT CTQP Concrete Level 1

  • FDOT Drilled Shaft

  • FDOT Pile Driving

  • ACI Concrete Laboratory Strength

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must pass drug test, fit for duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Physical Demands

Applicants must have the ability to:

  • Work in varying environments (lab and field settings)
  • Perform physically demanding field work (outside summer temperatures)
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

VIEW JOBS 2/20/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-20T00:00 Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure, Inc is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician with Construction Materials experience to join our team in Jacksonville, FL to work on a full-time or part time basis. The successful candidate will work under general supervision to provide moderately complex testing and analytical support to geotechnical and materials testing projects. Performs standardized assignments under supervision, including drafting simple standard reports, operating standard testing equipment or software of moderate complexity, and performing routine analysis procedures. Tasks and Responsibilities * Conduct tests and investigations in the laboratory to obtain data for use by engineering personnel in determining engineering properties of soil, rock, aggregates, concrete, and construction materials. * Prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports. * Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of the testing data. * Perform laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures, processes, and standards. * Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment Additional Tasks and Responsibilities * May perform a variety of non-technical tasks designed to assist others in preparing for and/or conducting office, laboratory, or field activities. * May assist in other non-technical projects as appropriate.
