OBJECTIVE:
This position will serve the Center for Marriage and Relationships (CMR), working directly with the center co-directors and CMR staff as an integrated member of their team to develop and implement communication strategies with key constituencies (i.e. students, alumni, faculty, staff, community supporters, donors, etc.).
This position interfaces with various EMC departments and others across campus to manage the creative direction, brand consistency, coordination of messages, content development and to maintain the highest standards for internal and external communication for the CMR. This position is responsible for coordinating organization-wide design, messaging, and content generation, including digital and print communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes strategic marketing and communication plans
Holds regular strategic meetings to clarify objectives and priorities, ensuring that messaging and visuals are on brand and appropriate for the target audience, project schedules and deadlines are met and tracking and accurate reporting is in place
Develops and manages strategies to improve performance analytics
Keeps CMR website up-to-date using content management protocols, managing all aspects of the editorial and content marketing strategy including development, publishing and promotion
Manages creation and production of e-newsletter; trains and guides content contributors; copy writing/editing; manages email distribution list
Manages donor database, identifies growth opportunities, maximizes donor retention and sourcing initiatives
Creates marketing plans for event design and promotion; ensures positive and on-brand experiences (logistics/production) for CMR events and outreaches
Assists in event planning and execution as needed
Initiates the development of marketing and donor relations collateral (i.e., print, website, video, photography, content) with UM as necessary and manages projects through to completion
Partners with Advancement Services to schedule annual fundraising campaigns
Develops successful appeals, including both giving campaigns and biweekly appeals in the e-newsletter
Produces Art of Relationships podcast to ensure audience growth and listener retention
Writes copy and measure impact data for all digital and print campaigns, and helps design all digital and print campaigns
Coordinates photoshoots including recruiting and communicating with models, coordinating photoshoot schedule and locations, and coordinating logistics
Develops advertising plans
Manages CMR's social media channel as an active and innovative presence
Manages and trains student worker, oversees their work and class credit paperwork
Regularly checks for and responds promptly to all CMR communications, including calls and emails
Performs additional work as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years experience in client services, communications, marketing, or public relations
Outstanding written skills, including copy editing
Strong speaking and presentation skills
Customer service oriented; strong interpersonal skills
Strategic marketing and/or communications experience
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Self-directed, detail oriented and motivated
Able to work productively on an individual level and in collaboration among cross-functional teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Powerpoint/Keynote, and capable user of online project management systems
Experience managing website and social media content preferred
Event planning and production experience preferred
Audio recording and production experience preferred, ability to learn new software desired
Basic proficiency in Photoshop and some HTML experience preferred

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required (or commensurate experience): preferable major in Communication, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing or similar
