Reporting directly to the shift supervisor, this position is responsible for the completion of cmm measurements for machine qualifications, changeovers, supporting shop floor and engineering studies as required.
Responsible for CMM measurements of first article, in-process, and final inspections
Carryout CMM measurements for machine qualifications, changeovers, and engineering studies as required.
Conduct additional evaluations using surface finish and form equipment when necessary.
Applicant will be required to work closely with various levels of production personnel to ensure the quality of production parts and provide feedback to resolve issues.
Responsible for proper daily cleanliness and operation for production CMM's, measuring equipment, fixtures, and work area.
Supports shop floor running of machines as required.
Learns and adheres to required safety, housekeeping and precision equipment standards and practices.
Observe all safety regulations including use of personal protection equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc.).
Report all unsafe conditions or events to Group Leader, Area Manager, or EHS representative in a timely manner.
Compliance to all Continental and Henderson plant permits, policies and procedures including, but not limited to, environmental, health, safety, security, ISO 14001 and Environmental Management systems, TS 16949 and Quality Management Systems, Human Resources policies, and Continental Business System elements.
Report all unsafe conditions or events to Group Leader, Area Manager, or EHS department in a timely manner.
Operate robot assisted production cells, learn basic robot functions, and understand safety policies and procedures relating to a robotic environment.
Support Quality sorts, containment actions, or inspection requirements as necessary.
High School Diploma or GED required
3-5 Years General Machining Experience
Experience in operating a CMM with PCDmis software preferred
Must be able to interpret CMM reports and communicate them verbally
Must possess a keen sense for attention to detail, (i.e.- CMM report details and identifying visual defects on machined parts)
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerance and blueprint reading
Ability to frequently lift parts and fixtures up to 50 pounds
Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner
Must possess basic computer knowledge, technical aptitude and problem solving skills
