Arwood Machine seeks a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) Inspector for our Newburyport, MA, location.

Job Purpose

As a CMM Inspector at Arwood Machine, Newburyport, MA, you are to perform CMM programming measurements and inspect manufactured parts to all quality control standards. Arwood Machine operates in an environmentally controlled, state of the art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manually inspects parts using a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM),

  • Manually verifies out of tolerance dimensions found by the CMM using various standard measuring equipment.

  • Runs Calypso computer program to inspect parts.

  • Assure that inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specifications.

  • Develop inspection practices and gauging for products.

  • Uses trigonometry tables to calculate dimensions.

  • Review customer specifications to determine requirements.

  • Generate inspection reports, DMR reports, statistical data.

  • Reviews subcontractor documentation/certification for compliance to PO requirements.

  • Assist the Quality Engineering Manager in assuring the QMS conforms to the customer, internal, industry (i.e., AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485), and regulatory/legal requirements by conducting audits and identifying gaps.

  • Assist in conducting internal quality audits and ensuring timely and sufficient corrective actions.

  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.

  • Assist in investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.

  • Assist in issuing non-conformance reports and facilitating MRB hardware disposition and corrective action tasks.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with Part Inspections using a CMM.

  • Drawing Interpretation Expertise.

  • Extensive knowledge of GD&T.

  • Sampling Plan Expertise.

  • Ability to complete simple calibrations and Dimensional and Visual Inspections.

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Data analysis, and Statistical Process Control.

Preferred

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.

  • Experience working within an ITAR/EAR compliant organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.

  • Must use safety protection when and where required.
