GENERAL FUNCTION: The Commercial Loan Exceptions Specialist I is responsible for processing documentation, collateral and regulatory exceptions items including the pro-active resolution of outstanding exceptions associated with commercial loans. This role will assist in the assurance that all newly closed commercial loans have met all document and perfection requirements and that the bank's position and security interest has been satisfied following Bank policy and procedures. The Commercial Loan Exceptions Specialist I is responsible for reviewing a wide variety of loan and line products from simple to complex transactions and obtaining the documentation necessary for full perfection. The Commercial Loan Exceptions Specialist I will also be responsible for managing daily, monthly & quarterly reports as part of the pro-active resolution of outstanding exceptions. The Commercial Loan Exceptions Specialist I will be responsible for meeting completeness, turn time and accuracy requirements established through set goals

Under close supervision and using well-established guidelines, process all loan document exception types, along with regulatory & compliance exceptions on commercial loans. The position will require a basic level of knowledge of loan documentation, policies and procedures as well as knowledge of Commercial and Business Banking product lines, lending operations, policies, practices and procedures. The position will require a basic level of knowledge of the loan accounting, imaging and workflow systems. A high concentration on time management, prioritization and customer service are necessary to fulfill the expectations of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with the management of daily, weekly & monthly reports related to the pro-active exceptions clearing process.

  • Performs the necessary actions required to obtain missing, trailing or deficient documentation as deemed required during recent documentation of a commercial loan transaction.

  • Has a full understanding of executed new and renewal loan packages, assisting with the assurance that all required loan documents (as required in the credit approval and in established policies and procedures) are received from third party vendors, recording offices, etc.

  • Researches issues with any missing required documents, proactively communicates issues with RMs, PMs, U/W, BBOs, Branch Managers etc, and maintenances exceptions to track for receipt of these items.

  • Updates collateral records on the commercial accounting system to maintain the integrity of collateral data used for servicing and reporting

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • One (1) year experience with a focus on loan documentation, collateral perfection, or related work experience.

  • Knowledge of Pre and Post Article 9 rules governing the perfection of UCC related collateral preferred.

  • Knowledge of filing requirements for real estate secured loans.

  • Knowledge of filing requirements for unique collateral such as equine, airplane engines, assignments of contracts and assignments of membership interests.

  • Good time management and organizational skills evidenced in previous assignments.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of applicable bank policies and procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of loan documents and requirements.

  • Basic knowledge of commercial lending and loans.

  • Understanding of all Business Banking and Commercial loan products.

  • Knowledge of Business Banking and Commercial Lending Credit Policy/Guidelines.

  • Knowledge of loan documentation, collateral evaluation, lien perfection, local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

  • Basic knowledge of B2B, CCAS, AFS, Loan Doc Prep System, and other banking systems preferred.

  • Good personal computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and email.

  • Self-starter and works with minimal direction.

  • Good analytical skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills and team orientation.

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Ability to appropriately escalate issues requiring problem solving and decision making.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for the determination of requirements, review, analysis and completion of all due diligence associated with the business banking loan documentation and closing process. This includes the satisfaction of creditapprovalconditions prior to the preparation of business banking loan documentation. These responsibilities include identifying, requesting, reviewing and critical interpretation of all 3rd party provided documents needed to grant the "clear to close".This alsoincludes coordinating the efforts to prepare business banking loan documentation for all business banking loans including real estate and non-real estate secured loans. Communicates proactively with sales, credit, external customers and 3rdparty vendorsensuring the bank meets the closing date and time expectations of the borrower. Under minimal supervision, uses established guidelines to receive and review vendor documents. Clear liens and credit conditions and confirms loan to valueratios for amoderately complex line ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * receives Reviews and Analyzes draft and final credit Approval/credit memo from underwriter or portfolio manager and determines due diligence requirements. * Analyzes and interprets the loan Approval to determine borrower, collateral, guarantor and loan requirements. * control point to confirm evidence of sufficient lending authority obtained on the credit approval. * manages workload by Monitoring newly received loans as well as Tracking work in Process. * Orders and/or interprets supplemental vendor due diligence information to ensure borrower, collateral and guarantor requirements are met and ensures production of appropriate documentation in compliance with all terms of the loan request such as: Ø- Title commitment / title search Ø- UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) search Ø- Evaluation or real estate appraisal Ø- Environmental questionnaire, RSRA/Transaction Screens or evaluation (phase I/II) Ø- Flood determination and other regulatory or compliance items Ø- Proof of insurance documents Ø- Survey Ø- Entity documents * Ensures adherence to the Bank's risk tolerance or escalates appropriately. * Promptly and accurately determines when all underwriting Approval conditions for the loan closing have been satisfied.
