Santa Monica Proper Hotel is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sr. Transient Sales Manager to join the team at our 271-room property featuring interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 24,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The Sr. Transient Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to maximize transient room revenue. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of the luxury hotel market, exceptional sales acumen and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement effective transient sales strategies to achieve revenue targets; identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with travel agents, corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals; ensure exceptional service and personalized attention to all clients
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities and potential business opportunities; utilize this information to adjust sales strategies accordingly
Revenue Management: Collaborate with the revenue management team to develop pricing strategies and optimize room inventory to maximize revenue; monitor and adjust sales efforts based on occupancy forecasts and market demand
Sales Presentations: Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients; effectively communicate the unique selling points and advantages of our hotel
Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior management; provide actionable insights and recommendations based on sales data
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, operations and guest services, to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and exceptional guest experiences
Event Participation: Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows and networking functions to promote our brand and develop new business leads
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the luxury hotel industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills; proficiency in sales and CRM software; exceptional organizational and time management abilities
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the luxury hotel market and transient sales dynamics; familiarity with revenue management principles and strategies
Personal Attributes: High level of professionalism, integrity and customer-focused mindset; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
