The Club Operations Manager will be directly responsible for the Clubhouse operations at the Beach and Tennis Club which include staffing of the front desk, locker rooms, parking, fitness facility, pools, grounds, pier and maintenance. You will provide hands on assistance at the front desk, pool operations, member parking and fitness operations while demonstrating an understanding of current trends in health and fitness, a passion for exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work alongside maintenance staff daily to ensure pool systems are running at an optimum level which includes knowledge of how to test a pool for chlorine and acid levels while having an understanding of what the readings mean
Ensure front desk team is trained to provide a 5-star experience with every interaction.
Provide locker room staff with training that allows them to maintain locker rooms at a 5-star level as it relates to cleanliness and attention to detail.
Work with team in parking lot when it is full to ensure it is organized and safe.
Mentor personal trainers to train, motivate, and encourage members to reach their maximum performance and achieve their health and fitness related goals.
Maintain a quality assessment of Clubhouse staff through effective training, orienting, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining.
Maintain payroll records, scheduling, timekeeping, and employee paperwork.
Provide staff with educational opportunities through monthly staff meetings and in-house continuing education programs.
Partner with HR/Recruitment and assist with the interviewing, training, and supervision of front desk staff, locker room attendants, swim instructor, maintenance staff, personal trainers, group fitness instructors and harbor masters.
Oversee independent contractors for the Pilates studio and Physical Therapist.
Manage personal training program and its related goals and statistics, including weekly and monthly training hours and revenue. This also includes monitoring each trainer's clientele and schedule to ensure productively goals are being met on weekly basis.
Ensure that the club grounds, front desk, locker rooms, public areas, pier and fitness areas are clean and safe at all times.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills to ensure appropriate member satisfaction and retention through open communication with members and analysis of club usage.
Work closely with other department managers to insure teamwork within departments.
Maximize financial performance by managing revenue, labor costs, and operating expenses for P&L.
Supervise all Clubhouse equipment purchases, repairs and maintenance.
Resolve disagreements with members regarding safety, club policies and procedures.
Oversee maintenance of facility and ensure that the highest standards of housekeeping are upheld.
Work with Club Maintenance staff to ensure completion of repair or maintenance work.
Serve as contact for vendors providing operational projects.
Monitor lost and found procedures and inventory.
Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
Assist with promoting club membership and provide marketing presentation.
Other duties assigned by General Manager
Minimum four years in resort, full-service health club, or private club environment
California drivers license and current certification in CPR
Strong supervisory or management skills required
Ability to handle challenging situations professionally
Knowledge of current fitness trends and resort services
Microsoft Office proficient
AA, BS Degree or some college preferred
Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively
Ability to read a profit and loss statement
Good attention to detail
