Title Cloud Systems Engineer


The Cloud Systems Engineer will help design system architectures for new or existing infrastructure related projects. Candidate will support for full range of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud administration, configuration, and maintenance.


  • Create and implement solutions for complex system implementations.

  • Perform cloud administrative and IT operational tasks.

  • Configure and manages AWS environments to meet business owner needs.

  • Implements tools and automation for AWS infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, diagnostics, and scaling.

  • Automate tasks and operations utilizing scripting languages such as Python.

  • Create Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) resources such as subnets, network access control lists, and security groups.

  • Document, deploy, and validate multi environment cloud based infrastructure.

  • Develop and implement integration strategies between cloud and on premise based infrastructures.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.

  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.

  • Use Amazon CloudWatch metrics to monitor the health and utilization of AWS resources.

  • Work with Redhat and Windows operating systems as well as clustered filesystems, networking, SAN and backup technologies, and management of environments with large amounts of data.

  • Create and manage IAM users, groups and access policies.

  • Upgrade operating systems and perform systems enhancements.

  • Develop and implement tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.

  • Communicates with leadership on status of projects.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field required

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in enterprise level IT projects Cloud based technologies (PaaS, IaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure Services).

  • Experience with building dynamic infrastructure within AWS or Azure.

  • Experience with issues facing large scale server environments.

  • Experience with SAS Admininstration a plus

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills

  • Attention to detail, quick learner, have a positive attitude, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must possess excellent critical thinking skills, reading and interpretation, writing, and communication skills

  • Must have lived in the United States at least 3 out of the last 5 years.

We are an Amazon Managed Service Partner (MSP) providing full-scope cloud engineering, operations, and development services to multiple government and commercial customers. We are looking for someone who can help extend and improve our processes, evangelize the DevOps culture, and can work with us to improve our infrastructure automation to move our customers forward. Required Qualifications: * 15 years of experience with System Engineering. * Experience with Continuous Integration and building test automation frameworks. * Previous experience building or maintaining full-stack applications and/or infrastructure. * Passion for quality and solving problems in complex computing environments. * Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. * Extensive experience with scripting and programming such as Python. * Knowledge of test and QA automation frameworks. * Experience with AWS. * Willingness to work on a fast paced team with a "low ego/high performance" culture. * Willingness to support a DevOps team (24X7 accessibility for emergency issues on a rotating basis). Preferred Qualification: * AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. * Knowledge of government security architecture and/or secure coding practices.
