The Cloud Systems Administrator manages and maintains the corporate IT infrastructure (systems, network, endpoints.) This position will use their strong technical knowledge in computer systems and an aptitude for research and learn solutions to solve difficult problems and proactively contribute to the overall efficiency and maturity of the IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, software, and hardware.

  • Support helpdesk efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved promptly with limited disruptions.

  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled tasks.

  • Following IT procedures and creating new procedures for newly identified resolutions

  • API experience for syncing applications from different vendors

  • PowerShell experience including Microsoft Graph

  • Azure VM creation, maintenance, backup and recovery

  • Azure Cloud Automation accounts

  • Intune Management

  • Record and maintain an accurate log of troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system

  • Manage computer lifecycle (Commissioning & Decommissioning and Inventory)

  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

  • Participate in various IT and Non-IT projects and proof of concepts (PoC)

  • Experience with SQL for querying, analyzing and interpreting data within Azure Log Analytics and other similar platforms.

  • Work closely with security operations to ensure adequate visibility and monitoring of security events and alerts, support for vulnerability management and incident response, and collaborate to evaluate threats relevant to cloud workloads and data.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, network administration, system administration or related field

  • Designations:

  • Azure Certs

  • Server +

  • CCNA or Network+

  • 2-4 year's experience in an IT helpdesk or support role

  • 2-4 year's experience doing system administration and/or network administration

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of virtualization

  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, SQL server

  • Strong understanding of SaaS applications such as Microsoft 365, Cisco Meraki, Freshservice

  • Strong command-line experience

  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team when the task requires.

  • Understanding of device management system Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager

  • Understanding of network routing, VLANs, VPN, switching and wireless

  • Deep technical knowledge of Azure and strong understanding of SaaS and application workload security in the context of cloud services

  • Ability to automate tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent).

  • Experience designing, procuring, testing, building, deploying, and supporting security tools and secure solutions
