The CloudSolutions Engineering Manager is responsible for coaching and mentoringpre-sales engineers that support complex managed services solutions in a cloudhosting environment. The Director must be a subject matter expert on all
RapidScale solutions and continually working to improve themselves, theiremployees, and our company. Position includes direct customer involvementon sales opportunities, validation of all quotes, ongoing enhancement ofservice and product descriptions, and interfacing with Sales, Marketing, and
Engineering teams to keep up-to-date on all new service capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities and EssentialFunctions
Develop andmaintain internal and external relationships with clients, partners, vendorsand colleagues. Communicate professionally and effectively at all levels.
Take a leadingrole in senior level presentations and large-scale customer negotiations with
Sales Teams and Sales Partners.
Provide metrics /detail on number / status of opportunities being supported for all team members
Ensureconsistency of solutions, value proposition, and pre-sales support methodology.
Assist assignedSE and sales team on technical aspects of proposal writing and development.
Ensure smoothtransfer of solution design details and knowledge from Solutions Engineeringteam to Engineering teams and Project Management teams for all new serviceimplementations.
Ensure solutionscomply with operational processes and policies related to solution design andimplementation.
Have a deepunderstanding of product and service pricing to ensure profitability on allsolutions
Foster a customerservice-oriented approach for all team members.
Provide feedbackon new products and revisions of existing products
Monitor SE teammember performance against established targets
Monthly KPI reporting
Up to 75% travel
5 years of experience in pre-salessupport
5 years of progressive experienceimplementing information technology solutions
Strong problem resolution and conflictmanagement skills
A working knowledge of MicrosoftWindows and Linux operating systems
A working knowledge of Local AreaNetwork (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies
Strong understanding of network and securitysolutions
Understanding of IP addressing andsubnets, routing protocols, firewalls, and load balancing
Strong interpersonal skills; must workeffectively with associates; be a team player
Demonstrated technical salesleadership skills
Excellent communication skills, verbaland written; must communicate effectively and in a professional manner
Effectively multitask, organized, andmanage priorities
Strong MS Office and Visio Skills

Prior technology sales experience(desired)
BS/BAin related discipline strongly desired
History oftechnical sales support and/or sales support leadership in a managed ITservices, managed hosting or cloud services business
Knowledgeof IT managedservices and/or cloud managed services with a networkof local contacts
