Cloud Production Engineer

Overview

SIG is currently looking for a Cloud Production Support Engineer for our Sports Analytics team in our Bala Cynwyd, PA office. You will work directly with our technologists, traders and quantitative research analysts to design, build and manage the platform that is critical to our sports analytics infrastructure.

In this role you will

• Be a primary point of contact for Bala based quants/developers of the sports trading desk, and ensure critical systems are kept in operation

• Work with the Cloud and Orchestration Engineering (COE) team to improve on existing platforms and solutions

• Research & develop new technologies and solutions to enhance performance, availability and reliability of our IT Systems & Infrastructure

• Act as a liaison between the Sports Analytics team and our Dublin based COE team

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or another related technical field.

• MS Azure AZ-104 or equivalent experience (1-3 years)

• Previous experience with following concepts & technologies:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Terraform/Cloud Formation/Azure Resource Management Templates

• Configuration management systems (Ansible/AWX), automation pipelines (Azure DevOps), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Version Control (git)

• Containerization and Orchestration: Docker/Kubernetes

• Monitoring and Logging: (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK stack)

• Networking and Security: Virtual Private Cloud/Security Groups and Network ACLs/Identity and Access management

• Storage technologies (NFS/SMB/Binary - Implementing and managing storage accounts and resources)

• Minimum RHCE (or corresponding MS cert) - or equivalent knowledge in operating systems (Linux or Windows), Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Group Policy.

• Good understanding of networking concepts (experience in troubleshooting OSI Layers 2-7)

• Operationally minded with a solid understanding of what it takes to design, orchestrate, deploy and run mission-critical systems

• Strong scripting abilities in Python or PowerShell
