About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer with hands on experience deploying, maintaining and supporting production applications deployed across various Cloud Platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining UKG's Authentication Platform that's leveraged throughout all our service offerings. Being a Platform that's crucial to always being available for our customers accessing our services, it's important to have a proactive approach mindset to detect risks, mitigate and prevent issues from reoccurring, and continuously enhancing our observability. You will play a vital role in collaborating with cross-functional development teams to integrate with our Authentication Solutions in an effort to ensure a seamless application launch.
UKG is a Hybrid working model with the expectation of 3 days/week in the office. Additionally, this role will have occasional on-call responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Manage and support all Authentication (IAM) Identity platforms that are mission critical our customers
Understanding all Identity protocols such as OIDC, oAuth2, SAML2 and all flows that are leveraged to integrate with an AuthN platform.
Extensive knowledge with observability tools that enable UKG to be
proactive identifying issues before causing any impact
Define and implement enhancements to our observability to detect issues prior to causing any impact to our customers
Keeping the lights (KTLO) on and maintaining all Authentication Platforms to ensure all services are fully operational and healthy.
Collaborate with our Dev and internal teams on improving application resilency, availability and overall user experience
Support services through activities such as monitoring availability, system health, and incident response
Showing Service level owership on driving solutions and preventative measure to make our products
Improve system performance, application delivery and efficiency through, automation, process refinement, post mortem reviews, and in-depth configuration analysis
Engage in Communications across all areas of the organization
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1-3 years experience in engineering, with exposure to Cloud Engineering, DevOps Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
Experience with Cloud based applications
Ability to build Grafana dashboards and build alerts in effort to proactively detect and prevent any customer impacting events.
Experience with Containerization Technologies
Experience with Linux Ubuntu Operating system
Experience with DataDog, Grafana and Kibana (elk) for increasing our application observability
Experience with Openstack, GCP Cloud Compute or other Virtual Server Software
Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, C++, or Java)
Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems
Experience with operating systems and TCP/IP network fundamentals
Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Identity platforms and protocols such as OIDC, oAuth2, SAML2 Authentication and Authorization industry standards
Understanding various Authentication flows such as Authorization Code flow, Implicit flow, client credential flow and resource owner flow.
Experience debugging complex authentication related issues that require understanding SAML traces, review of logs from various components in our AuthN ecosystem
Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience with Directory server (ldap/OpenDJ), MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, and others
Ability and willingness to work evenings / nights on occasion.
Ability to lead and work in projects that span multiple internal teams
